How do I get a divorce?

A

To be divorced in Quebec, you will need a judgment from the Superior Court pronouncing the divorce, and providing the details on all of the questions that must be decided in a divorce.  Depending on your situation, these may include custody of the children and possibly rights of access, child support and special expenses, spousal support, lump sums, division of assets and of debts, liquidation of the family patrimony which may include decisions on the family residence, automobiles, RRSPs and other retirement vehicles, and special considerations that may be particular to your situation.
